FAQs

You have questions, we have answers!

WHY USE A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO?

For peace of mind. For the team of specialists who love every bit of what they are doing and have your back. Because of safety in numbers.

DO YOU EDIT MY PICTURES?

Yes! We color correct, crop, straighten, modify exposure, contrast.  What does this mean? Your photos will look professional and consistent!!

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY CEREMONY?

We believe your ceremony should end two hours prior to sunset. We have found that it helps to leave daylight hours after the ceremony for all of those important photos, whether you want a first look or not.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

We are already offering our very best rates!  It is our mission to deliver beautiful, timeless images at a wonderful price.

DO YOU BRING LIGHTING?

Yes, we bring flashes and stands. However it is always preferable to shoot in natural light, it is more flattering on skin tones, softer, and more romantic. We recommend building the important images into the hours of light wherever possible.

WILL YOU TRAVEL TO MY WEDDING IN TIMBUKTU?

Nope.  While many of our photographers do provide destination wedding services through their own businesses, it is not a service level CWC provides.  We feel that brides within our budget range will be better served to shop local, so-to-speak and hire a vendor who calls her destination home.

DO YOU RETOUCH?

Yes. We do our absolute best to photograph you in your most flattering light,  if you request additional retouching, we are more than happy to do it for you. Our retouching fee is $20 per image, upon request.

ARE THERE HIDDEN FEES?

No! These prices are inclusive of all fees and taxes. You can plan your budget safe in the knowledge that there are no surprises.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T HAVE A WEDDING PLANNER OR COORDINATOR?

You’ll discuss the photography timeline 6 weeks prior to the event, and confirm those details three weeks prior to your wedding day. When you sign with us we share our three best wedding day timelines to give you a solid idea of how to setup your wedding day for success.

WHEN SHOULD I TALK TO MY PHOTOGRAPHER, AND WHAT DETAILS NEED TO BE FINALIZED BEFORE WE TALK?

We recommend speaking with your photographer about 4 weeks, which is close to the wedding date, as that’s when your plans are likely to be finalized. Prior to your meeting, one of our in-house wedding photography matchmakers and timeline specialist who will help you troubleshoot timelines and suggest locations. Truthfully, the week of the wedding is the best time to have a conversation with your photographer, because it ensures a more productive meeting, and a thorough review of your wedding day preferences and plans. It also ensures all the details you discuss will be completely up to date.

CAN I MAKE PRINTS FROM THE IMAGES I AM GETTING IN MY PACKAGE?

Absolutely! In fact, you can print them on your own or order prints through us, copy them, share them online, blow them up to poster size for your living room…all to your heart’s delight.

WHAT IF OUR RECEPTION LASTS LONGER THAN THE AMOUNT OF TIME WE PAID FOR?

We get this question a lot, and to be honest, it’s only happened a very small handful of times.  If things are still hoppin’, and you want your photographer to stay, extra time can be added on for $400 an hour. Most of our clients choose not to have their photographer stay throughout the whole reception (how many photos of dancing people do you really need?) and instead use those hours earlier in the day for more meaningful photos.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS?

We make sure that we’re spending time editing your images to make them look spectacular, but we also know you want your photos back asap! That being said, we make it a priority to get your images back to you within 3 weeks of your event.

WHAT’S YOUR PRIMARY STYLE? POSED AND FORMAL, RELAXED, PHOTOJOURNALISTIC, CREATIVE, ARTISTIC, CANDID, TRADITIONAL?

To be honest, we think it’s really important to have a good mix of all of them. We understand the importance of classically beautiful photos that you’ll still love 50 years down the road, but we also totally understand the importance of fun, different photos that are representative of you in your life right now. Most of the time people describe our photography as classically elegant, with just the right mix of whimsy built in, plus a little charm on the top.

DO YOU SHOOT IN COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE? OR BOTH?

Generally, we edit about 15-20% of the photos in black and white, and the rest in color. If you have a different preference, just let us know!

CAN WE GIVE YOU A SHOT LIST? HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHAT WE WANT?

NO. The only time we work off of a list is during family formals to ensure that we know which immediate family members belong in those few photos. We’re a team of professionals, we don’t need a shot list to ensure we get photos of the important parts and details of the day. Only your Uncle Bob needs that if you hire him instead of us.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PHOTOGRAPHER GETS SICK ON MY WEDDING DAY?

You’re in luck. Not only are we our own network of photographers able to come together to ensure we photograph your day with ease, but we also keep a rotating backup schedule to ensure we have vetted wedding photographers available if needed.

WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

All of our photographers use top-of-the-line, professional grade equipment.

HOW MUCH IS REQUIRED TO SECURE MY DATE?

One-third of your package price and an online signed agreement is required to secure your wedding date.

WHAT REALLY SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS?

We’re unicorns. A unique combination of business acumen, wedding photography planning, our team of wedding photographers, our ability to creatively problem solve on wedding days, and all around bundles of fun.
